Been havin' fun with your VCS CheatDevice, haven't you? Well, today we bring you great news fellas, 'coz the amazing Edison Carter has just bumped up his CheatDevice for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories to v2.1a!
And as promised, Edison has added even more teleport locations to make it a whole lot easier to get to the missions. But of course, that is if you don't mind cheating your way through the game. And as my fellow QJ writer Kyle put it, a lot of GTA players use the CheatDevice just for that extra fun kick, but if you're one that's all for challenge, you can always opt not to use Carter's CheatDevice.
Anyhoo, Edison also warns not to save the game after using the cheats and that when you spawn vehicles, you'll be using a game cheat that will lower your criminal rating. And like the earlier versions, you'll still need to run VCS through DevHook to use the CheatDevice. Here are brief instructions on how to install CheatDevice v2.1a:
* copy vcscheatdevice.prx X:dhkd (then replace X: with the drive letter of your PSP)
* edit this file: X:dh271flash0kdpspbtcnf_game.txt and replace the '271' with the emulated firmware version you want to use such as 260, 250, 200
* and add the line ms0:/dh/kd/vcscheatdevice.prx
* after the line ms0:/dh/kd/devhook.prx
IMPORTANT NOTE: After installing, wait at least 30 seconds before turning off USB or pulling out your memory stick. The PC caches your changes and doesn't write them out until a while later. If your memory card gets corrupt, use chkdsk /f X:
